Benedict Cooper is a Nottingham-based freelance journalist, copywriter and photographer whose writing has appeared in major national publications both in print and online, including The Independent, the Huffington Post and the New Statesman.

His journalism covers a wide range of topics from business, politics and travel, and has been featured in national newspapers, consumer magazines, trade journals and online. A brief summary of his career to date:

After graduating from the Newspaper Journalism MA at NTU 10 years ago Benedict worked at Emap where he covered commercial property and retail forRetail Week magazine. After two years there he took a job at a PR company representing clients from the commercial real estate sector, including global shopping centre developer Westfield on the Stratford City account - part of the Olympic Park.

From there he went freelance and over the past six years has written features and news for national newspapers, commercial magazines, travel magazines, trade journals and online. His writing has appeared in all of the nationals via a news agency, online on sites including theHuffington PostandTNT Magazine, and political magazinesThe New StatesmanandOpen Democracy. He attends a lot of conferences as a writer, and is regularly hired as part of a team of journalists covering broadcast industry and real estate conferences for daily magazines published during the shows.

He has also done a lot of work for clients requiring contract publishing, marketing copy, PR material and white papers.
